Great organizations are built on great people and we want to hire the best people, no matter their color, creed, or background.
Formelio is a scale-up company that designs and builds innovative, decentralized, standardized, and reusable digital healthcare products. We take a holistic approach to healthcare by collaborating with stakeholders across all domains to ensure that our solutions meet the needs of practitioners and citizens alike. Whether you are a healthcare professional or a patient, our products are designed to make your life easier.
We are a team of creative and ambitious professionals from over 15 countries, including software engineers, designers, product owners, and healthcare experts. We believe in fostering a culture of individual autonomy and responsibility.
As a Product Owner, you will lead a team of 4-6 engineers. Our DVA and IOP products enable data exchange between more than 20 major medical source systems in the Netherlands. Due to the complex back-end and no front-end interface, it is best suited for a Product Owner with a technical background. Your tasks would include: facilitating daily stand-ups and planning biweekly sprints to keep your team on track with development. You will work closely with management to prepare roadmaps, define what is done, align with technical stakeholders, and plan realistic and achievable timelines. You will have to understand the function of the components and the data models involved on the level of solution architecture (not technical architecture). Other tasks you will do include analyzing data in JSON files, reading logs in Kibana, and working with API tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
What is NOT a part of the product owner role for this team?
Translating user needs into customer journeys/product ideas.
Financial reporting
Working out the entire technical architecture by yourself
The stack of our products is mainly Java Spring Boot, but also has some Go and Rust. The data exchange format we use is HL7 FHIR. The interoperability standard we use is Nuts. Nuts facilitate the authorization and authentication layer.
For this position, we are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:
Affinity with digital products and tools
Experience with a highly technical product.
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role.
Experience with managing senior back-end engineers
Clear communication and planning skills to make reliable and thorough agreements with external stakeholders and internal team members.
Strong organizational skills and affinity with setting up and managing standard operating procedures. We use Notion for our documentation and task management.
Fluent English speaking and writing skills.
A background in computer science or back-end software engineering.
Knowledge and previous experience in healthcare.
SCRUM or comparable certification/training
Dutch speaking and writing skills.
As a Product Owner at Formelio, you are part of the entire process - from architecture to delivery. We strongly encourage our employees to speak their minds and participate in the growth of the organization. Consequently, this is a unique opportunity to work in a horizontal scale-up environment where you have a say in the way we create and operate. There are also many growth opportunities depending on your interests. Additionally, we also offer you the following:
A competitive salary, based on education and previous experience, up to €5200 a month.
NS Business Card with commuting costs up to €300 being paid.
200 hours of holiday leave (1.0 FTE) and 8% holiday allowance.
A company laptop
Pension plan with 10% of your salary contributed every month (7% contribution from the company).
Developmental options related to your career growth, such as internal training and the ability to take external training if desired (400€ budget annually).
Option to work hybrid or at our office at The World Trade Center (situated right next to the train station Den Haag Centraal and Laan v NOI).
