Formelio is constantly seeking talented software engineers to join our team. Our agile teams comprise skilled engineers who collaborate closely to drive innovation in healthcare throughout The Netherlands. We are currently in search of a Software Security Engineer who excels in dynamic and forward-thinking environments.
As a Software Security Engineer at Formelio, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to enhance healthcare in The Netherlands. Our teams are continually engaged in software development, problem-solving, and fostering collaborative efforts to empower individuals to take charge of their health. At Formelio, we embrace a microservice architecture and leverage cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Helm, Golang, Rust, and FHIR.
Your primary responsibilities as a Software Security Engineer at Formelio will include:
Security consulting: be involved in the security of our software architecture, as well as being the main point of contact surrounding software security at Formelio.
Security testing: find weaknesses in the software of Formelio and resolve them.
Security engineering: implement measures to harden the security of Formelio’s products.
Implement security controls: configure firewalls and threat detection systems.
Documentation & compliance: maintain records and policies, and ensure adherence to security standards.
Collaboration: work with cross-functional teams.
Software development: work on Formelio’s software products, largely but not exclusively focused on security. The balance between security and development will differ from time to time.

🥏 What do you possess as a Software Security Engineer🥏
We are actively seeking individuals with positive energy who excel in a flexible working environment. If you thrive on effective communication, both within your team and with stakeholders, and are comfortable working in a scale-up setting with tight deadlines and milestones, then you may be the perfect fit for our team. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential in this role. In addition to these soft skills, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:
University degree in computer science with a focus on software security or technical degree with a few years of engineering experience in software security.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
You must be a team player and thrive in a multidisciplinary team.
Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of independently devising solutions to complex challenges.
Experience with our technology stack, which includes Java Spring Boot, Rust, and Kubernetes. Knowledge of NodeJS and Go is considered a plus.
Good knowledge of programming and using Linux/MacOS
Eagerness to acquire new technical skills, and stay updated with emerging trends.
Language-agnostic approach to software engineering.
Experience in the health-tech industry would be a valuable asset.
